Football is a crazy sport and so are the fans. However, there are some fans to go the extra mile to show their love and loyalty towards a club, a player or even the coach who helped the team gain victory.

Such is the story of a young fan who sold Sir Alex Ferguson's final chewing gum for 456,000 euros. The fan ran on to collect the piece of freshly munched gum in Fergie's final game for Manchester United and has now sold it. The match ended in a dramatic 5-5 draw against West Bromwich Albion.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s last piece of chewing gum he chewed on as a Man Utd manager has been sold for a whopping £390,000.

The piece was sold on eBay after being picked up following the Scotsman’s final match in charge against West Brom.

The supporter put the chewing gum on online shopping platform ‘eBay’ to welcome bidders. He wrote: “Used chewing gum: RARE. Recovered from The Hawthorns. Clear Perspex/wooden case. Unofficial merchandise rumoured to belong to Sir Alex.

“After 1,500 games of intense chewing as manager of Man Utd, here lies Fergie’s last piece of chewing gum. All proceeds go to the MU Foundation charity.”

Ferguson is said to manage a team at the 'Treble Reunion' match at Old Trafford in May.
