Guard said the business was “slammed as soon as we opened.” Guard said the store first opened in Maui Mall in November of 1973. “It’s an institution,” said Victoria Wells, who grew up on Maui and now lives in Colorado and represents Nulo Pet Food. “I remember growing up with this place.”
