Pale Ale is one of the best Artisan Goods in Stardew Valley, allowing you to make a huge profit if you decide to sell them. It's surprisingly easy to create Pale Ale on your farm if you know the right steps to take. Rarely are expensive items in Stardew Valley easy to obtain, so making a lot of Pale Ale is a good investment!

In this guide, we'll explain how to make Pale Ale and how to get all of the materials you'll need to make it.

How to Make Pale Ale in Stardew Valley

You'll need two things to make Pale Ale: Hops, and Kegs. It's best to get your Hops ready first - since you can only grow them during certain seasons - and then start working on preparing your Kegs.

To get Hops, you can go to Pierre's General Store, where you can buy the item called the Hops Starter. It will only set you back 60 g, so it's definitely worth the investment if you're determined to make and sell some Pale Ale. It's the same price at JojaMart with a membership, or 15g more if you are lacking one.

Hops Starters will need to be planted on your own farm during the summer. (If you don't know what season or date it is in Stardew Valley, check out our guide on where to check!) Alternatively, if you don't want to wait until summer rolls around, you can plant them at any time on an Island Farm, or inside the greenhouse. Once you've planted them, wait for them to grow and harvest them just as you would any other crop on your farm.

So you've got your Hops, and now it's time to get your Kegs ready. Note that before you craft any Kegs, you'll need to reach Farming level 8. The ingredients needed for Keg are 30 Wood, 1 Copper Bar, 1 Iron Bar, and 1 Oak Resin. You can put as many Kegs on your farm as you like. Place your Kegs where you want them to be.

Next, equip the Hops and walk up to the Keg. You will then place the Hops into the Keg, which will start the brewing process. The Pale Ale brewing process is relatively short, as you'll only have to wait for a little over a day to get the base quality Pale Ale.

How to Age Pale Ale in Stardew Valley

Once you've made Pale Ale, you can go ahead and sell it if you like. Just like in the real world, however, aged beverages are more profitable than the basic version. They'll take a lot more effort to create, however, and you'll have to fulfill some prerequisites.

First, you'll already need to have a nursery in your home, which can be accomplished by getting married to your partner and buying upgrades from Robin. At that point, you can talk to Robin and ask her to build you a Cellar. A Cellar costs 100,000 G, making it one of the most expensive upgrades in the game; however, you'll also make a significant amount of money from the products that you age in the Cellar.

Here's a look at what quality Pale Ale you'll get depending on how much time you spend aging it:

Pale Ale QualityTime Spent Aging
Base0 days
Silver9 days
Gold17 days
Iridium34 days

Now you know how to brew Pale Ale in Stardew Valley; as one of the game's best Artisan Goods, you can sell it for quite a profit, especially if you're willing to spend the money to get a Cellar where your products can age.
