Radnor’s early high school education was in orthodox Jewish day schools and one of them was Columbus Torah Academy. He later attended Bexley High School and graduated in 1992. He is an alumnus of Thespian Troupe 2512 of that school.

Josh acquired his Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio in 1996. During his undergraduate program, Josh was awarded the Paul Newman award that allowed him to study at Eugene O’Neill Theater Center for the spring semester of 1995.

Josh studied further for a Master’s degree in Fine Arts at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 1997, he also participated in a Jewish volunteering program called Livnot U’Lehibanot in Safed, Israel.

He claims to practice transcendental meditation.

Josh is a registered democrat.

Radnor learned to play the guitar at the age of 42 to enhance his musical contribution to the band that he formed with musician Ben Lee in 2017 collectively called Radnor & Lee. In May 2020, the band released its second album called Golden State.
